Carter Morris, American Association of Airport Executives

Executive Vice President

Carter Morris is Executive Vice President of AAAE Services at the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE), the world’s largest professional organization for airport executives, representing thousands of airport management personnel at public-use commercial and general aviation airports across the United States. In this role, Carter oversees the association’s business and solutions portfolio—a diversified suite of enterprises that has become a cornerstone of AAAE’s financial foundation and a leading example of non-dues revenue growth in the association sector. Under his leadership, AAAE Services generates more than $90 million in annual revenue and supports more than 400 airports nationwide through the AAAE Transportation Security Clearinghouse, the aviation industry’s consensus choice for worker background vetting and the platform behind the majority of TSA-mandated aviation worker channeling, as well as Training and Technology Services and Information Services. Carter helped shape several industry-defining initiatives, including the founding of the Transportation Security Clearinghouse and the nation’s first domestic known traveler program. He previously led AAAE’s Transportation Security Policy and Regulatory Affairs efforts and served as Chairman of the Transportation Security Administration’s Aviation Security Advisory Committee. Earlier in his career, Carter served in the White House and in public affairs at the U.S. General Services Administration.

Carter holds a bachelor’s degree in public affairs from Syracuse University and an MBA from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business. He lives with his wife in Annapolis, Maryland.
